Hi! My name is Savannah Shirkey, and I'm the owner and groomer of Happy Dog Pet Grooming. I've been grooming for over 15 years, and have studied training and behavior modification as a hobby. I use only dog-friendly methods, and I am Fear Free Certified. I am also trained in canine first aid and re-certify biannually.
I initially got into grooming when I acquired my dream dog, a big white Standard Poodle named Flash. I decided to learn how to groom him myself. I wanted to be sure he was always treated gently, and it looked like fun! What began as a hobby quickly became a passion, and a career. I love working with animals, and I have so much fun making every pet look their best.
I am very interested in the changing styles of the profession, and I pursue continuing education whenever possible. I greatly enjoyed the Fuss About Asian Fusion seminar with internationally renowned competitive groomer Pammie Carmichael-Hogg, where I learned to incorporate the hyper-cute styling of Japan and Korea into low maintenance, practical styles for the everyday owner. I have studied hand stripping and terrier styling under several former members of Groom Team USA. I am always excited to learn new techniques, and bring back technical skills to use in my work.
I have enjoyed working in salons with other groomers, but it's always been my dream to run my own business and have everything "just so." I am a groomer who truly cares about your pets, and I treat every animal with the same TLC I give my own. Come try grooming the Happy Dog way, and be a part of my dream!

Reboot came into our lives as a rescue puppy in need of a home. We're so happy he found us!
